Job Introduction
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Android Developer who loves technical challenges and consistently advocates for quality across all aspects of their work. The ideal candidate is passionate about building high-quality mobile applications and delivering exceptional, end-to-end user experiences. You will play a key role in bringing Quillki, our multilingual content platform, to Android mobile users. As the first Android engineer at Nixope, you will own the development of the app from scratch, shaping its architecture, standards, and future direction. This role is perfect for someone enthusiastic about taking ownership, making technical decisions, and building a product from the ground up.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain a high-quality, user-friendly Android application from scratch.
Write clean, maintainable, well-documented, and thoroughly tested code.
Define and implement scalable architecture and best practices.
Work with APIs to integrate with backend systems and services.
Ensure the performance, quality, responsiveness, and reliability of the application.
Stay up-to-date with new Android features, capabilities, and best practices.
Work closely and collaborate with designers and backend engineers to identify and define application requirements.
Take ownership of technical decisions and contribute to shaping the future mobile experience.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of Android experience with a focus on Kotlin-first development.
Expertise in Jetpack Compose for building declarative, high-performance user interfaces.
Mastery of Modern Android Architecture (MAD) using Clean Architecture, MVVM, or MVI patterns.
Experience building and shipping production Android applications.
Strong experience working with APIs and integrating backend services.
Experience optimizing applications for performance, scalability, and reliability.
Strong problem-solving, debugging, collaboration, and communication skills.
Ability to take ownership and make technical decisions independently.
Comfortable learning and growing in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
Ability to quickly ramp up, understand complex problems, and deliver solutions
Strong organizational skills and ability to self-manage.
Nice to Have
Experience building multilingual applications (including LTR and RTL support).
Experience writing automated tests (unit, integration, UI).
Experience working in Agile environments.
Experience in early-stage startups or building products from scratch.
